User/Business Aware Governance and Control

Context-Aware Automated Policy Enforcement

DynamicOps policies automate the enforcement of company rules and best practices about how compute resources should be provisioned, managed and decommissioned through their life. These policies are context-aware in that they can be specific to a group or even individual users within groups. By enforcing governance with policies rather than people, DynamicOps helps you improve operational efficiency while reducing service delivery times from days to minutes.

Following are some of the context-aware policies that DynamicOps administrators can use to control the services and management functions that a given user can perform:

  • User Access - Controls group association and which services, resources, service levels a user can access.
  • Business Groups – Allows the administrator to create a secure multi-tenant infrastructure where different business groups, or projects within groups, can have resources, service levels and automation processes that uniquely meet the needs of that group.
  • Resource Reservations – Allows resources to be allocated for use by a specific group and ensure resources are not inadvertently consumed by other groups.
  • Service Levels – Defines the amount and type of resources a given service can receive either during the initial provisioning or as part of any configuration changes.
  • Build Specifications - Contains the automation policies that specify the process for building or reconfiguring compute resources.
  • Other Policies – DynamicOps Cloud Automation Center contains a number of additional policies that govern everything from approval workflows to network and cost profiles.
