DynamicOps Design Center
Most cloud automation tools require a very prescriptive process for managing compute resources that are under their control. This usually requires major changes in the way companies do business and renders you unable to leverage existing automation tools and home-grown scripts.
DynamicOps Design Center provides system administrators with a visual workflow editor that can be used to modify DynamicOps’ out-of-the box activities and automation workflows. Selecting from a library of predefined activities, users can add processing steps to provisioning, management, or decommissioning workflows. These customizations allow administrators to quickly imprint their unique business processes on their cloud.
- Predefined Workflow Stubs – DynamicOps has predefined workflow stubs inserted at various points in the machine lifecycle. These stubs simplify the process for adding activities to DynamicOps’ standard lifecycle automation. Command stubs provide insertion points for adding new commands to existing machine menus or additional steps in the process automation workflow.
- Activity Library – The Design Center activity library contains predefined tasks that can easily be added to an existing DynamicOps workflow. Custom parameters are specified through the graphical user interface and can be passed back-and-forth to these now-customized activities. The library includes DynamicOps-generated activities as well as standard .Net Windows Workflow Foundation activities.
- Visual Drag and Drop Interface - Design Center’s visual workflow designer allows activities to be easily inserted into a workflow. Automatic error checking logic makes sure that each activity’s parameters are configured correctly, further simplifying the customization process.
